POSSIBLE SEQUEL TO THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT IN THE WORKS
Ed Sanchez and Dan Myrick, the directing team that created an Internet sensation in 1999 when they unleashed THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT on an unsuspecting public, are currently tossing around the idea of a sequel that is more in the spirit of their original classic. They feel that enough time has gone by and that the initial backlash that the original film was met with has subsided, and that a new generation of BLAIR WITCH fans would enjoy a follow-up to the wildly successful original.
If a sequel does get the go-ahead and if it does prove to be lucrative, there is also discussion about making a prequel (which is not an option at the moment).
In the meantime, Sanchez is currently working on a new film tentatively titled POSSESSION (no relation to the Andrzej Zulawski film of the same name). He is also currently promoting SEVENTH MOON, a film that he shot in China in late 2007, which will be released on DVD and Blu-ray on October 6th and stars Amy Smart.
