Roger Spottiswoode's TERROR TRAIN is the next slasher film due up for a remake. The premise is slightly different from the original about Kenny Hampson (Derek MacKinnon) and his revenge against his classmates who humiliated him with a corpse, although the end result is the same. Due to begin filming in May 2009, TERROR TRAIN is described by Freefall Films as follows:
" Amy and her friend Stephanie are set for the ultimate party weekend: a Halloween fraternity bash aboard a moving train. But when a costumed psychopath starts killing the passengers one by one, it's up to Amy to stop the murderer."
The film is due to be directed by Alex Wright who already has several features under his belt, such as DANGEROUS WATERS (1994), FAST MONEY (1996), and THE FIRST 9 1/2 WEEKS (1998).
TERROR TRAIN had a sort of remake last year in the form of a film called TRAIN, which featured Thora Birch and a cast of characters on a train ostensibly being terrorized by a killer.
