The remake of A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET is fast-tracking its way to becoming a reality.
Cast as Fred Krueger is Jackie Earle Haley, an actor best known for his roles in the Bad News Bears films of the 1970's, as well as DAMNATION ALLEY and BREAKING AWAY, and who all but disappeared in 1993 until coming back to films over a decade later as a child molester in Todd Field's LITTLE CHILDREN in 2006. Now he'll be playing cinema's most notorious child murderer.
Also in talks for the remake is Kyle Gallner of THE HAUNTING IN CONNECTICUT. He is purportedly up for the Johnny Depp role.
