WALTER READE SCARES UP THE CHANGELING FOR HALLOWEEN
George C. Scott gives a wonderfully understated performance in this story about a man who loses his wife and child in a freak accident and moves into a mansion by himself, only to discover that the ghost of a young child is trying to reach out to him.
The Walter Reade Theater in New York City is showing the film on Halloween at 9:00 pm, which is fitting since one of the film's many settings in just outside of Lincoln Center. The film is being screened with director Medak's own personal 35mm print. This is a rare opportunity to see a fine ghost story on film in a theater.
