YOU’D BETTER WATCH OUT FOR THE REMAKE OF CHRISTMAS EVIL

Success begets remakes that reap big box office. Rob Zombie’s HALLOWEEN did well enough with its $75M-plus box office gross to prod other producers into making remakes of far less well-known horror films. The latest flick on the remake track is Lewis Jackson’s YOU BETTER WATCH OUT, better known as CHRISTMAS EVIL, starring Brandon Maggart as the distraught toymaker who becomes an evil Santa Claus and slays those he deems naughty and not nice. The film was distributed on DVD in 2000 by Troma and in 2006 on DVD by Synapse Films. Producers David Foster and Ryan E. Heppe, who are also involved with the remake of the original SILENT NIGHT, DEADLY NIGHT, have optioned the rights for the remake, which will probably go into production soon after the Writer’s Strike ends.

It's a pretty sweet movie. You can watch the trailer and read some reviews of the movie at spout.com.

Bram Stoker's Dracula (Lord Ruthven)
Creepy but the ending isn't the best. How can you kill the ultimate evil? The idea's have been explored better in the movies actually. I know that in the Hammer series they always kill Dracula (and usually in a sweet way) but the fact that he comes back in every

It's not creepshow the movie came out in the late sixties or early seventies.

Anyone seen cloverfield yet? (Lord Ruthven)
The movie has a lot of potential that it failed to exploit. The characters are all pretty one dimensional. the premise is interesting though, and the style fits. It's an alright movie, entertaining enough to watch. I would not call this a horror movie. I agree with elmonstro1982 on spout.com
