HALLOWEEN IN DECEMBER

As one of the few people who really liked the new version of HALLOWEEN (play nice!), I am happy (and not surprised) to report that Rob Zombie’s version will be out on DVD on December 18 in a 2-disc set. The film will be available in the R-rated theatrical version (full screen in one version and letterboxed in another version) as well as a widescreen director’s cut that is some 11 minutes longer. The audio will be Dolby Digital 5.1 soundtracks. The special features will include:

• Audio commentary by writer/director Zombie
• 17 deleted scenes with optional Zombie commentary
• Alternate ending
• Re-Imagining HALLOWEEN documentary
• A Conversation With Rob Zombie featurette
• Meet the Cast featurette
• The Many Masks of Michael Myers featurette
• Bloopers
• Casting session footage
• Laurie Strode screen test

I hope that Adrienne Barbeau’s and Ezra Buzzington’s footage are in the deleted section. I have a DVD-R of the workprint (which is substantially different from the theatrical cut) and their scenes are in neither this version nor the theatrical cut. The disc will retail for just under $30 and the DVD cover will soon be available to see.

It's a pretty sweet movie. You can watch the trailer and read some reviews of the movie at spout.com.

Bram Stoker's Dracula (Lord Ruthven)
Creepy but the ending isn't the best. How can you kill the ultimate evil? The idea's have been explored better in the movies actually. I know that in the Hammer series they always kill Dracula (and usually in a sweet way) but the fact that he comes back in every

It's not creepshow the movie came out in the late sixties or early seventies.

Anyone seen cloverfield yet? (Lord Ruthven)
The movie has a lot of potential that it failed to exploit. The characters are all pretty one dimensional. the premise is interesting though, and the style fits. It's an alright movie, entertaining enough to watch. I would not call this a horror movie. I agree with elmonstro1982 on spout.com
