Anchor Bay Entertainment has announced that Adam Green’s HATCHET, which has done well financially at the box office in its R-rated version, will be released uncut and unrated on DVD in a 16x9-enhanced 1.78:1 widescreen transfer, with 90 minutes of bonus features that consist of:
- Audio commentary by Adam Green, cinematographer Will Barratt and actors Tamara Feldman, Joel David Moore and Deon Richmond
- “The Making of HATCHET” featurette
- “Meeting Victor Crowley” featurette about the creation of the film’s villain
- “Guts & Gore” featurette, behind the scenes of the makeup and prosthetic FX
- “Anatomy of a Kill” featurette on the design and execution of the notorious “jaw-breaking” scene
- “A Twisted Tale” featurette in which Green recounts his decades-long friendship with Dee Snider
- Gag reel
- Theatrical trailer
There will also be an R-rated theatrical-cut disc, though who would want this is anybody’s guess. This will include the “Meeting Victor Crowley” featurette and the theatrical trailer. The retail price for each is $26.97.
