THE PASSION OF DEBBIE ROCHON - PICK YOUR SAVIOR!

Okay, how did we miss this one? This is one of those stories that is just so hilarious, it has to be repeated again and again. So, even though Fangoria posted this on February 4th, it still bears mentioning.

I call her "the Ubiquitous Debbie Rochon." The woman is everywhere. She's been in more films in her one decade than most people have in their entire careers - over sixty in the last five years alone. Oscars come and go - anyone want to place bets on the future careers of your Best Supporting Actresses? Rochon has the distinction of being named Scream Queen of the Decade by Draculina magazine. That's right, the decade. Take that, Judi Dench!

She's also a really nice person who keeps a close relationship with her fans. She even sent some of her internet supporters holiday wishes via e-mail. Yep, I love Debbie Rochon - she's got the type of spirit we need more of in exploitation cinema.

So, how did I miss what sounds like her craziest role to date? The New York Post reports that Rochon's new film has her taking on her biggest foe to date... Jesus Christ. Oh yeah, those people protesting Mel Gibson's movie have completely missed the boat on this one.

No, really. LORD OF THE UNDEAD is a new film from German director Timo Rose. And don't worry, Rochon plays the bad guy. As Lilith, Lucifer's little girl, she follows in her daddy's devilish cloven hoofsteps. She takes on the Almighty who battles her via - get this - a horde of zombies.

Now remember, Jesus is the first person on record for resurrecting the dead. Remember Lazarus? Sure, the Bible doesn't say anything about Lazarus being a bloodthirtsty zombie, but what are you going to do? It's called "exploitation" for a reason. Besides, the Father, the Zombie King and the Holy Spirit does have a nice ring, you've gotta admit. I will now stop commenting on the subject, because frankly - I believe in the Big Guy and don't want to press my luck.

But if I don't have the courage, our beloved Debbie does. "I've played a lot of evil characters but I never thought I'd get to kick Christ's ass in a movie," she said.

Of course, this is just one of the many projects Rochon has planned. She also continues to write for several magazines and is also writing her autobiography. Given her experience, attitude and refreshing sense of humor, that's a book I want to read.
