Some of my favorite Rape and Revenge movies are Last House on the Left (1972), House on the Edge of the Park, and my favorite is I Spit On Your Grave a.k.a Day of the Woman (1978), which unfortunately is getting a remake. What is your favorite Rape and Revenge movie?

Not really. It depends on how the rape is shown. The purpose of a rape scene in one of these movies is to show an act so repugnant that whatever violence is shown to the perpatrators in the end can be seen as justified. Horror is a genre that deals with the darker side of life. Rape is one of the most vile crimes & you want to see justice dispensed in these movies & the guilty get thier bloody comeuppance. If you take as an example Irreversible. The rape scene in that is almost unwatchable due to the sheer brutality & utter repulsion of the scene. There is no way on earth ANYONE could get thier "jollies" from that scene. Nothing really phases me on screen anymore but even I struggled to sit through the whole scene (over half the audience walked out of the cinema during that scene) What that scene did was affect you at a deeply emotional level. The level of violence that the two "avenging" charcters succome to is only made "acceptable" (there is an arguement that violence solves nothing, but this is the movies) by seeing just how utterly violated & beaten Monica Bellucci really is.
Films that sexualise rape like Baise Moi are utterly without defense & I personnaly find offensive. But a film that shows rape in it's true light, a horrendous & repulsive act allow the veiwer a sense of righteousness when the guilty are made to pay.

Yes but the movies dont need to show the rape in such graphic ways, take the original dr. jekyll and mr. hyde, there was rape in that and some of the hammer frankesnstein movies, it wasnt graphic, but still shicking. I spit on your grave, half of the damn film is rape, and thats fucked up, and me saying THATS FUCKED UP was a joke.

I found it offensive & tacky. The rape was filmed to excite the viewer, which imho is wrong. The girls then went on a killing spree that had absolutly nothing to do with the rape. One of the two women that was raped didn't appear in the movie prior to the rape or after it. It was a scene filmed purely to turn it's audience on, which I find not only offensive but strange as it was directed by a woman.

The Exterminator was a trash classic. The sequel was appauling though. I haven't seen it in a long time & I wonder if it has aged well. I saw The Warriors for the first time in a long time & it really hasn't aged well.
