What is the general opinion of the LOTR films around here? I know the horror communtiy sometimes splits over them. A lot of people I think are iritated by Jackson being out of our "pocket" and on the tounges of common loafs. True this does iritate me. I reccomend taking said common loaf and saying to him/her hey "I have another Peter Jackson film for you." As their eyes sparkle with anticipation pop in Dead Alive, Bad Taste, or Meet the Feebles. They will quickely be disgusted and realize that Jackson at his roots is one of us and still is. I feel that Jackson is just ironically getting recognized for talent that we ALL knew he had long long ago. I am going to see King tonight. Is anyone else going? What do you think about Jackson and his trilogy?
EDIT: BTW I hope the rumors of Jackson wanting to do a low budget Dead Alive/Bad Taste film after King Kong are more than just rumors. I hope and pray. Does god answer prayers about gory horror movies? |

I went. Twas Awsome. I'm a life long Tolkien Fan, and I think Jackson did the work justice. I could never be as good as the lit. but Jackson put out a fab. piece of work. Never have seen Meet the Feebles though! I do wish he'd push some Horror now that he's burried the big boy salami.
Kinda guessin It's not gonna happen though. I think he may have been stolen from us.

But yeah, the RETURN OF THE KING movie has the "Shit-Your-Pants-Battle" that's worth the price of admission alone.
I still prefer the first film (THE FELLOWSHIP OF THE RING) over the later two though. But hey, that's just me. And I'd take a new "Special Edition" DTS anamorphic widescreen DVD of MEET THE FEEBLES over any LORD OF THE RINGS "Extended Edition" DVD anyday. -Steve
