Okay, so I just went and saw My Bloody Valentine 3D this morning. To sum it up: eh.
I was pretty excited because it was my first 3D movie. I wake up this morning, a little bit of spliff action, rush over there, get my drink, get settled in - alright! I'm totally ready for some blood splashing into my face and fire burning off my eyelashes. Within the first couple minutes of the movie, a pretty cool effect. Starting out good. Waiting for the rest of this unbelievable awesomeness that is the 3D horror movie. And waiting...waiting...wait, there is more awesome shit in this right? Seriously, it was a cheesy horror film. Picture Jason with a coal miner's suit and a pickax. The acting wasn't totally bad, but I've seen much better. I think maybe the 3D would've seemed better if the actual movie itself was a better movie. The movie is set in a small mining town. One of the miner's just goes off the deep end and kills a bunch of people while they're in the mine. Right at the end of the rampage, the tunnel caves in and he's in a coma. Of course, this takes place on Valentine's Day. A year to the day of this, the character wakes up from his coma and kills pretty much the entire hospital staff. He takes shelter in, where else, but the same mine he first killed all those people in. Coincidentally, a group of college kids are having a party in that mine at the same time. Of course, most of them die but a couple escape. They think they've killed this cold-blooded miner. Or have they? Some doubts seem to arise 10 years later. Oooo...spooky! Toward the end, they did throw in a couple more pretty sweet effects - or at least they were cool to me. Remember, though, this is my first 3D movie. If you're a veteran, you may not agree. Overall, I don't know if it was worth the $8 ticket and $3.50 for a small Diet Coke. If they ever release this on DVD and still in 3D, it might be worth a rent. If you're a collector, maybe even a buy. But I could think of a couple other things I'd rather spend $11.50 on. |

Welcome to the world of re-makes.....AND ..the original My Bloody Valentine was an imitation of every other slasher flick that came down the pike in the 80's....Nothing really original about it...just a different look to the slasher/killer and used different impliments of death....And again as I stated before in other posts, the original My Bloody Valentine wasnt that great of a movie...not bad but not great....

My Bloody Valentine is definitely one of my favorite 80s horror films. I think it is very atmospheric and really captures the time/feel of the 80s especially in a small town/mining town. Plus it has a cool looking slasher, good gags/kills, killer soundtrack, decent acting. Wish I could see it uncut

Although not a classic I will stick with the original here,at least the original was pretty grim for those days in horror. This remake shouldnt have been made the talent here in this one are not the least bit interested in what they are doing and seem to be going through the motions.E for effort nothing more though.Otherwise lackluster movie.
