Default Halloween (2007)

I saw the new Rob Zombie version of Halloween. He took a slightly different direction with the storyline. Focused on how Michael Myers became so homicidle, starting with his messed up childhood. He followed the original story,,but credit to him...didnt copy it step for step. I thought it was a good movie...The original was much better though. Zombies' Halloween didnt create an atmoshpere as John Carpenters did. John Carpenter created an uneasy nervouse tension to his movie, where Zombie hits you full force with non stop assualt and violence.
Some of the violence in this new Halloween is pretty intense. Unlike John Carpenters Halloween...This one will not go down in history as a Classic...but it is a pretty good movie...

I saw it and liked it . I have the opinion that if you are a RZ fan you will love it but if you are a fan of the original then its up in the air if you like it or not.

When I first found out about the new Halloween remake I was so fucking pissed of I had to stop myself from smashing anything too valuable. Halloween was like the first horror movie I ever saw, when I was about 3 or 4 years old. I was terrified of it at the time, but I was still young and very timid. Nowadays I can't get enough of the blood, guts and brutal violence in horror movies. But the way they have to always fuck around with the originals really pisses me off. Leave the legends like Halloween alone. Classics like that shouldn't be messed about with, I feel it really kills the whole point of the original version. All of these fucking kids lining up to watch "this new scary film caled Halloween" they have no fucking clue that film was made back in '79/'80, all they know is the shitty remake. With all due respect to Rob Zombie for directing the remake, for fuck's sake leave those classics alone. Nobody could ever make a better version than the original of any film ever made. All of these modern special effects and shit ruin the whole idea of having a movie made. I wish all these young film makers would just let the old one and only slasher flicks stay in the past, instead of reworking them to a point where it's not even the same movie any more.

I saw it on opening night only out of curiosity. Plus I love the Halloween series and Rob Zombie's movies. I didn't love it and I didn't hate it. I thought the beginning was to drug out and started to get boring. Yet it was still interesting to see more of what made Michael Myers so evil. But I agree Wayne Insane, it wasn't the same movie anymore.

Obviously I will check the remake out as soon as I can, before I say for sure that they fucked it up. I love everything Halloween and it has always been my favorite series of horror movies, so I probably will still like it to a certain extent just simply because it's Halloween. But I just thought I'd make that clear about the remade versions of most films being a lot worse than the original. There's no way anybody could ever make a better version of such a legendary movie as Halloween.

Yeah, and I'm also interested as to where he heard that from. I don't remember reading anything about Halloween 4 and 5 being shown on the big screen at any of the horror sites I visit anytime recently.

The Movie Was Bad!!! Rob Zombie Turned an original classic into a nightmare. All he had in this film was sex then comes the gore. No scary scenes like in John Carpenter's '78 Classic. Pure 100% GARBAGE!!!

BUT THEN AGAIN IT IS ROB ZOMBIE, WHICH ONLY MAKES STUPID MOVIES!
