Guess That Old-School Movie!

OK, in absence of DM, I figured I'd ressurect the old "Guess the Movie" threads. DM's is a NAME THAT MONSTER MOVIE!, (and his others the NAME THAT ASIAN MOVIE!) and as these are neither, I've started a new thread.

They're all from older movies, so you young kids might be struggling. I figure they all should be gettable, I just wanted to get the ball rolling. Though I wonder if anyone can get all three without help.

So if anyone wants to take a crack at them use the spoiler tags so others can still guess.

Well the first one is

'The Omega Man'. Which is a remake of the 1964 Vincent Price feature 'The Last Man on Earth' Which in turn is based on someones favorite horror book. 'I Am Legend' by Richard Matheson.
I havent read it but I may have to now.

I stumped on all three. But that last photo looks just like Ernest Borgnine, and that don't look like "Cabbie"! If Cabbie had looked like that, he and Snake would have had the Duke crying like that wench in BLAIR WITCH!

Yup, right on both counts PMS. That is the one and only Borgnine. Which really pins it down as to the movie. Particulary when you stick him in a Satanic red robe. B)

Man that number 2 looks familar. I want to say the omen but I don't think thats the case. I don't remember any 'cataract eye haze'. You can just tell she is going down for the count in that scene and it isn't at the hand of some standard monster.

And now Ten's sorted out #2 we've got them all covered. Even if he did incorrectly guess #1, meaning no-one go them all (yay!).

# 1 was

well spotted by null, with my predictable I AM LEGEND spin, as the Charlton Heston fest THE OMEGA MAN. On show is the excellent Anthony Zerbe as Matthias, leader of the mutants. Sadly not the arch-nemesis of the books Neville, Ben Cortman. TOM is a movie I was a huge fan of until reading Matheson's book, and realising what a hash of a version it is. It's still a guilty pleasure though.

#2 was

correctly pegged by Ten as the one and only Horror Express. Here we see (I believe) the Countess fall foul of the monster, which drains the memories (and life) of its victims through their eyes, then transferring it's consciousness into their bodies. Always loved that bloody eyes effect. And it starts Cusing, Lee *and* Savalas. What's not to love? Though the real show stealer for me is the guy that plays the crazy, Rasputin-inspired, priest.

#3 was

the quality of Ernest Borgnine decked out in Satanic robes, starring alonside The Shat, Travolta, and Tom Skerritt. I haven't seen this since I was a kid, but I remember loving it at the time. One of those movies that just hasn't been on TV here since then it seems.

Good job all. And I'm actually suprised these came across as as hard as they did.

I'll try and dig up some more old school horror pics and see if I can't stump you again. Ten takes the award for best guesses with a late "stealing into the box" 2 of 3.

The loose theme was "movies starring crazy people in robes". Yes, I have a healthy fear of organised religion.

I have never seen The Omega Man, so its no suprise I never got it! Your right about that scene in Horror Express, it scared me so much I couldn't sleep when I was a nipper! I saw Devils Rain years ago and its the only horror I ever remeber Ernest being in.
