It's directed by the director of Poltergeist and written by the writer of "Alien", "Dead & Buried", " Total Recall" and "Heavy Metal" about astronauts that investigate Haley's Comet discovers a spaceship with hordes of dead bat-like aliens and three naked humanoids perserved in energy crystals as they are brought back to Earth to be studied. Soon the three humanoids wake up as they are actually space vampires that suck the energy out of humans to transform them into deadly fast moving dried zombies that begin to spread a similar infection through London, only a astronaut with a professor and friend must stop the vampires or else the world is doomed.
It's a unique kind of Sci-fi horror flick that is a different approach on the myths of vampires and zombies on how the vampires of myths and legends came from a race of aliens eons ago, there is also nudity, a babe, and good special effects for it's time, the movie is a cross between "Dracula", " The Thing ( 1982)" and Umberto Lenzi's "Nightmare City". Highly recommended! But i have a couple of questions about the movie: If the three humanoids were really the source to the vampires on earth and were really vampires then how come they didn't have fangs or suck blood like traditional vampires? And anyone thinks the idea of how vampires originated from a race of aliens thousands of years ago is the same exact idea from the original Vampirella comics? afterall in that comic, Vampirella came from the planet "Drakulon" where every vampire from myths and legends on Earth came from. |
