I find Last House on the Left to be more disturbing than outright scary.

^ Ditto! I've heard a lot about that movie so I'm looking forward to seeing it. Should be disturbing, haha

I prefer the Last House remake to be honest, but I'll wait till the movie club before I go any further....

(Just realised I posted my previous comment in wrong thread....thought it was latest horror movies watched...LOL)

I won't hold it against you that you prefer the remake, I think liking remakes are dependant on many factors. I knock remakes, but when I think about it I watched all those horror double bills as a kid, and though I loved the black and white Universal movies, I always preferred the colour Hammer films, and they were in effect just remakes of the Universal stuff, albeit with better effects, principally the fact they were in colour. Taking this into consideration I can accept the kids of today enjoying the slicker looking, glossy remakes over their gritty, grimy 70s and 80s originals, though I personally much prefer the older films.

Hey all - New to this forum

I am pretty much desensitized now to horror films, except for sometimes the shock effects in some movies. But before that, it was not so much the scariness of watching the film, but the aftereffect! The after effect of watching the Exorcist...instilled within me the fear of seeing that face at night...I didn't get over it for almost 6 months....this was in high school though.

Nowadays though...nothing really scares me like that hahaha (for good or for bad).

Hi, I'm with you on The Exorcist, I saw it when I was 12 and had a sleepless night as a result. All those video nasties desensitized me decades ago.

Agree the Exorcist very scary.

Part 2 The Heretic awful.

Part 3 great, though.

The recent movie that scared me the most was the Grudge. Mainly because when I was watching it last week, my roommate came in and grabbed me on the shoulder...and it scared the hell out of me!
