Never got into Alice In Chains, for some reason never heard enough of them.

Great bands (wasn't totally taken by TAD)

Been listening to Die Antwoord, not my usual taste but I can't help liking them.

TAD are awesome. I've started to really listen to their albums recently. It's that grunge (for want of a better word) sound, always feels like home to me

What are Die Antwoord like?

"Professor! Can't you examine my brain without removing it?"

"Yes, easily."

Been listening and mellowing to Thelonious Monk and Horace Silver, and a bit of Tom Waits too. It's been far to hot lately for anything heavy.

I think Korn are like marmite, you either love them or hate them.

Been listening to Unter Null at work today

The good old days!

Being an old fart I can remember going to so many gigs in that era. Was lucky enough to see Metalicca on the Puppets tour (supported by Anthrax) & Slayer on the Reign In Pain tour. But I also fondly remember the smaller gigs, Sabbat at the marquee, Overkill at the Astoria & the Suicidal tendencies at Brixton.
It's a shame that most of the old great London venues have gone now (Marquee, Astoria, Mean Fiddler) & aside from Slayer none of those bands really play thrash anymore.

Sabbat, I almost forgot about them! I'm from the northeast and it's the same deal, a lot of good venues have vanished, the Mayfair and the Riverside in Newcastle were great in the 80's, went to many a memorable gig in those venues, I saw Metallica, Slayer et all at the city hall too. I personally remember seeing Kreator, Exodus and Nuclear Assault all within days of each other in Newcastle, I'm pretty sure the Ramones played in same week to, kids these days don't know what they're missing, it's all expensive corporate venues these days, took my young son to see Iron Maiden last year and it cost a fortune!

Kreator bring back painful memories for me. I split my head open stagediving when none of the audience caught me! I think it was during Toxic Trace. I never saw Exodus, not sure why but never got to see them. The remaining venues now are nowhere near as good as the old ones. I always prefered the smaller venues, more atmosphere & more personal. My youngest daughter wants me to take her to either Metalicca or Slipknot next time they play. I'm sure that won't be cheap either!
