They have cast the governor, and if he's in it were definitely having an interesting series!

The Show is decent but the pace atm is too slow. Loving the direction its taking though as the group is actually fighting to survive instead of talking about the end of humanity all the time

Amen. Their podcast is called "The Talking Dead". The show should be called that 80% of the time.

I hope they really crank up the pace, action, and drama in the next series.

I haven't hit that part in the comics yet, Styg.

But, my question is, does this ninja not threaten a complete tonal shift for the show?

It's like you take this down-to-earth, zombie-apocalypse show, and throw in Blade, bad-ass zombie-killer. I just don't see how those two shows go together...

Michone has had to learn to survive by herself and has adapted into the cold blooded zombie killer, shes a deep character that goes through quite a lot of emotion through the comics for various different reason though. She is badass but is also somewhat vulnerable, so the down to Earth struggle between humans and zombies/humans will still be there, if the next series is what i am expecting it to be we're in for a hell ride, some jaws will be dropped... hopefully.

Did some looking into Season 3 and I did enjoy reading some of what Kirkman said about it. Nothing really spoiler-rific but what did catch my eye the most was:

SPOILER

I mostly enjoyed reading that part due to what I hoped would happen at the end of Season 2

"Professor! Can't you examine my brain without removing it?"

"Yes, easily."

at first i was really hesitant to watch Walking Dead because it is one thing to watch a horror movie once in a while but it is a different thing if you try to watch every episode of a scary series but then after watching a few episodes i got really hooked and i got interested to watch it every episode. I am now on the current season and i am hoping that i will be able to see a lot of scenes to look forward to

Finally got around to watching the first episode of season 3. Really enjoyed it and loved all the scenes in the prison. I'm guessing we'll be getting some filler episodes as this season progress's

Well, I guess I was the big naysayer from Season 2's discussion.

I'll hold my hand up though: 4 episodes into Season 3 I have to say it seems to have really turned a corner. I think it's been the strongest four episode run it's ever had.

Each one has had movement, and built off the preceding episode.
Amazingly, my two biggest problems with S2 have been more-or-less corrected: Carl has stopped being used as a plot monkey, and Lori (and more importantly the show) has admitted the fact she is a shit wife and mother.

Season 3 Episode 4 Spoilers
SPOILER

The thing that annoys me about the show (which they may have gotten over) is that they're not doing what they think they're doing.

I heard the showrunners describe T-Dog as "the heart of the group" after Season 2. How the fuck is that? He's the most one-dimensional, stereotyped "character" on the show (or many a show). He barely ever gets to speak. We don't know shit about him. The Heart? Come on.
Same deal: The show not acknowledging how much of a shit mother and wife Lori is. I don't care if she admits it. I do care if the other characters, and showrunners, see her one way when she acts the complete opposite.

Like I said though, I think they might be righting the ship...

Just caught up with episodes 3 & 4 & I must say this season has really hit the ground running. Season 2 lacked any kind of peril. The farm was too comfortable & up to the last episode seemed safe from any zombie attacks. This season has really amped up the threat of the walkers.
SPOILER

The Walking Dead seems to be finally reaching the potential we all new it had.

Finally caught up with episode 4. Going to watch 5 later. Wow I really wasn't expecting that. This season is just getting better and better. It's correcting the mistakes of the 2nd season in a big and pretty permanent way

This season is great! I enjoyed the last season in spite of the flaws, but they really seem to be working out the kinks this time around. This show is going to get brutal if it follows the comics closely. Even if it doesn't, it's already gruesome.
