Default my own "Halloween 2007" review WARNING SOME SPOILERS

okay people first off i would like to ask people why they hate remakes so much, personally I don't mind them, fair enough it is over done i mean how manyremakes we had in the last four years. I try to see a remake as a totally different film, the reson poeple can't sit and enjoy horror remakes it because they sit and try to compare it to the origonal which is not the way to sit back and enjoy. This in not talking about everyone just those who keep on complaining.

Rob Zombie's Halloween
Well i must say, hell of a remake/prequal, this one really impressed me nice work Rob. I liked the whole Prequal plot it gave Michael Myers alot more character then the first movie even thought we understand more in the sequals. I liked how he was given the semi abused personality, i really enjoyed seeing his younger self alot more in this one. we see he is not insane because if he was completly dulally he would comfuze us. I liked Rob's trademark white-trash family characters, the stepfather was a complete tool which makes me feel sorry for Michael. Judith was a real bitch in this one but I would defenitely hang out of her
Debra Myers was hot and a really nice character unlike what Sherrie played in devils rejects. Malcome McDowell was fantastic as Sam Loomis he did not try to rip off good old DP at all he played his own.

Now onto the remake i feel this was very rushed, it all happened at once but in a way the Prequal really made up for it. I was feeling two ways about this verson of Laurie Strode i think she was too hot to be the virgin the movie, yes i will admitt JLC had a nice ass in those flairs but i did'nt feel much for this one.

Tylot Maine (sabortooth x-men) really defined the character of MM in this one i don't know if he studied or made it his own but i liked it, for me all of these things were the ingrediants to a good remake 8/10

From reading your review it almost sounds like you only liked the movie because you thought the women were attractive Anyway I agree with your first paragraph about seeing a remake as a whole different movie. My biggest complaint with the remake was the scene where Michael was nice to his sister and wasn't planning on killing her. I think that's where the movie losted it.

I ment Boo [Laurie]. Its just that in the orginals all Michael wanted to do was kill Laurie but in the remake if you remember, Michael drops his knife and shows Laurie a picture of them as kids. Which means Michael wasn't even planning on killing her he just wanted a reunion. I just didn't like that direction, Rob should of just made Michael completly evil with no compasion at all.
