As the sequel to last year's SAW is kicked into overdrive, details are finally leaking out revealing the cast and plot of the film.
JoBlo reports that Shawnee Smith (the "reverse bear trap" lady) and Tobin Bell will return for SAW 2, to be directed by Patrick Bousman. Here's what it sounds like the plot entails. The Jigsaw is caught by a new character Det. Eric Mason. The Jigsaw's latest game is already in process and Mason is trying to stop him. The events are taking place in a large house in which the occupants are being forced to kill each other. Video cameras capture the killings. Here's what JoBlo says that makes us scratch our head: "What Mason doesn't realize is that the game is unfolding right in front of him... What does that mean? I'm not gonna tell ya! What part does Shawnee Smith's character play in all this? I ain't gonna tell you that either! Not yet anyway. All in due time loyal JoBlo readers..." Grrrr, thanks a lot. Gotta take notes on how to get people to keep coming back to these stories, SAW 2 begins shooting in Toronto next month and is still eyeing a Halloween 2005 release. In addition to directing, Bousman also wrote the script which was then polished by original SAW writer Leigh Whannell. Whannell and James Wan will otherwise not be involved in the sequel. The part of Eric Mason has not yet been cast. ---------- Comment on this article in our FORUMS!
