From Play I'm getting Dog Soldiers in Feb.

Somewhere in postal land is The Burning Region 2, also from Play.

From MovieTyme I'm getting Ichi, and they've announced it should be shipping from next Wednesday!
Uncut, 2 Discer, with removeable sub's.

I'm trying out HKFlix.com and am finally getting Nightmare City.

The bonus will be the Lenzi Commentry, though I've heard it's a bad one, I just hope it's better than Ferrara's on Driller Killer. That was really bad! LOL.

Our own JohnShaft seemed a bit unimpressed by DOG SOLDIERS in his review. I disagree. To say that film is a lot of fun would be an understatement.

I'd love to hear any Lenzi commentary, especially since the great give-and-take between him and John Morghen on CANNIBAL FEROX. I was supposed to get the AB NIGHTMARE CITY disc from an alt.horror poster. But, never happened. He went through a big song and dance with his buyers that everything was stolen from the postal trucks or something. And no, he's not giving anyone their money back. I'm a sweet guy but that little thief better pray I never meet him in a dark alley.

Ya think? :o
I think I better rewrite my review!
Actually I now appreciate Dog Soldiers a lot more than on it's initial viewing. And I sure as hell enjoyed it plenty the first time.

My biggest problem is I'm very often a victim of my own expectations. If I could empty my brain (who said its empty already?!) of all preconceptions I'm sure I'd enjoy most films a whole lot more.

At the time I really didn't expect the tongue-in-cheek humour approach to the life and death struggles with werewolves. Which is why I didn't write a glowing review. My bad.
If I had to I'd probably give it an 8 out of 10. Which to me is pretty damn good.

There are so many good things about the film that it really deserves all the credit it has received.

I'm just an old cynical bastard is all. <_<

My best mate's cousin played a Victim in DS, a guy called Chris Robson.

I want my DVD autographed! LOL.

Victim? Jeez Hern he was one of the main soldiers in it!

Not just some piece of meat for the Werewolves, he went out with typical Geordie bravado, and a cry of "I'm gonna fucking have you!".
He was in it for like 2/3rds of the film and had a fine role. I still think Darren Morfitt's 'Spoon' owned the film though! Morfitt is from Hartlepool, a stones throw from me.

Bloody fine showing by the North-East lads!

Wow, nice one.

I was told he was only in it for a short time.

He's suposed to have been a reporter in Scary Movie, but I don't know what he looks lilke.

My other links with the 'industry', ahem, are that I've got SuperGran's Autograph! HAHA, and a few years ago, my Gran was very very distantly related to Jason Donovan, some cousin by marriage's brother or something... :D

Short time? Nah.
Next time you watch it have a look out for him, you can't miss him.
What does he look like? Dare I say 'A Geordie'. :P
Imagine the much younger brother of Gazza.

Besides there's only two North East lads in it. One obviously a Geordie (the guy in question) the other more of a Teesider.
I also saw him listed as a reporter for Scary Movie on IMDB when I was writing the review. Who says I don't do research!
His IMDB (http://us.imdb.com/Name?Robson,+Chris+(I)) also has him listed as a Reporter in 'Along Came a Spider'. I mean, it's not as if he looks like a reporter!
He looks more like the bloke who'd chin you for spilling his pint doon the Big Market.

It's the fact you've got SuperGran's autograph I find really disturbing though! :erm:
