Movie Club Nominations/Voting (January)

OK, Killer Klowns wasn't a lively debate. I think partly because where's the divided opinion on it? It's a cheapo film that's at best a bit of fun. It's not an analysis or debate film. So I hope we can still keep the idea going, with a return to more contentious films.

For this month let's try a more disciplined approach to choosing the film.

Everyone is allowed to make ONE Nomination.
(double nominating serves no purpose, and don't pre-vote on others nominations)
When all nominations have been gathered I will add a poll to the thread. The winner of the poll is the choice.

I've always dug it, but it's a long, long time since I've seen it. It has a massive reputation (as a groundbreaking early horror), but not everyone is a fan. And, on top of that, just finishing off the first series of AMERICAN HORROR STORY, I want to go back and look at the film that seems to be a very big influence on it.

Wonderful movie, Martyrs aside the best horror film to come out of France. The problem may be that most people like it. Having said that I do know the ending can be a bone of contention with some people, personnally I loved the ending.

Yes, very true. Everybody I know who has seen it has really enjoyed it. We may not get a lot of different views on this one. It's a good opportunity for those who haven't seen it to watch it though :)

Yeah I've been meaning to see Haute Tension for like 5 years. And despite knowing about the contentious ending I don't (think I) know what it is.

I'll leave the nominations up for another day or two and then add the poll.

OK so Miss Italy's HAUTE TENSION is the official winner, after getting the last two votes to overtake ROSEMARY'S BABY.

I'm looking forward to this one, being very overdue to see it.

I can remember buying the uncut version on ebay years ago, and that's about it. Guess I'll have to dust it off and give it another go because I honestly can't remember a thing about it. :huh:

I mean feel free to have a full discussion about the ending/movie without Spoiler tags, the thread is heavily marked as Spoiler territory.
