Check out this piece of news http://www.comingsoon.net/news.php?id=3869 (though I cant say I know for fact if its true or not)
"Nakata will replace director Noam Murro, who dropped from the project earlier this week. The film will mark Nakata's American directorial debut now that he is no longer directing True Believers at MGM."

Well, I certainly hope he does a better job on the remake than the original Japanese RINGU 2. I didn't care for it at all and thought RINGU 0 was a much better film.
However, it'll be interesting to see if it's anywhere close to the "unofficial" RINGU sequel, THE SPIRAL directed by JOUJI "George" ITO of ANOTHER HEAVEN fame.

I first saw the ring, the hollywood remake and i loved it so i watched Ringu, Ring 2 and Ring0. Ringu was okay, but i thort the ring was a hell of a lot better!!! As for ring 2 and ring 0... cmon... wot the hel woz that about. it totally spoilt the whole myserty and scare factor of the first film and they shouldve left well alone, but there you go again, idiots who just want to make mroe and more money. They already messed up wiv the Rasen film wich was supposed to be the next in the ringu series but was so bad they scrapped it.
Anyway, back to the point LOL yeh, the ring 2 is coin out in march and its supposed to be pretty good. Hideo Nakata was involved and naiomi watts has said its creepier than the first one
u can c the trailor on there.
Also, the grudge, aka ju-on has been remade and is out soon!!!! cant wait!

I just this second saw the trailer and my first reaction was WOW lol. Already i have got high hopes for this one, i throughly enjoyed the first hollywood remake and this looks like that it has an even higher fear factor than that one.
This film ill deffinately be willing to stand in 5 mile long que for LOL

Yup, I agree. The new RING 2 trailer, even though simplistic, is most impressive and works well.
I for one, enjoyed the original American remake but I just hope that director Hideo Nakata isn't doing this just for the almighty dollar. Did you know that in Japan, the American film made more money than the original Japanese movie did? Go figure. But say what you will, I thought it was still a faithful and respectful remake none the less. I just hope that Nakata's got some new ideas and creative decisions to add to the series. Whether he wants to do the new sequel because his original second film sucked so bad, I don't know. I can only hope for a nice spooky addition to the legend and pray that it's gonna make sense.
