House of 1000 Corpses: Final release date

A highly-anticipated and much talked-about film, it appears

that HOUSE finally has a firm release date. Let's all hope that this much-delayed movie lives up to the hype it's so far generated!



Lions Gate has announced that the definite, no-kidding nationwide release date for Rob Zombie’s HOUSE OF 1000 CORPSES is April 11, 2003. For a while, the company was talking a March debut, but evidently decided to avoid competition with that month’s horror films WILLARD and DREAMCATCHER. In addition, New Line has shifted FREDDY VS. JASON out of a planned summer berth and is now contemplating a fall release.

I'm surprised at some of the negative comments about Rob Zombie's upcoming film. Personally, I still can't wait to see it. It probably won't be CITIZEN KANE but it looks incredibly enjoyable. How many folks do you see doing a no holds barred homage to grindhouse cinema these days - for theatrical release no less?

I know I really can't make my mind up about 'Corpses.

I expected quite a bit from it in the beginning but now I'm not so sure.
Rob certainly has battled like a bastard to get the thing released. I really hope it was worth it.
