Some interesting news concerning a possible RESIDENT EVIL 3 film from Now Playing Magazine...
With Resident Evil: Apocalypse coming to DVD on December 28th and Alien Vs. Predator following a month later on January 25th, writer-director-producer Paul W.S. Anderson spoke exclusively with Now Playing Magazine earlier this week about the two films. During that chat, he also let loose with the status of a possible Resident Evil 3 film.
"It’s still just a concept at the moment," the filmmaker says. "The second movie did better business than the first movie did, so obviously there’s talk of doing a third film. When I made the first movie, I always wanted to see it as a trilogy. I always had a vision for a trilogy of films, and the way I imagined it was that the first movie would be a prequel to the videogames, the second movie would be set in the same timeframe as the videogames, specifically Resident Evil: Nemesis, and then the third movie I always saw as kind of a sequel, or a postscript, to the videogames, set slightly after the time of the videogames. So it’s something I would definitely like to do, but we’re still kind of in negotiations. But there’s definitely a will to make the movie, that’s for sure."

Sounds good to me. I hope they carry on with the Alice story line as we already know what happens to Jill from the games. Also I hope Alexander Witt directs again he did a fantasic job with APOCALYPSE.
As for the good news on APOCALYPSE i have plenty lol ive got nothing but praise for this film. The performances from all the actors is a huge improvement so is the story line. The make up is better but still room for improvement (the only negative thing i have to say) and the NEMESIS is abslutely mind blowing. I cant remember the last time i saw an evil mutant on screen that looked so brilliant, a big guy in a suit was much more impressive to look at than the dodgey CGI used for the LICKER in the first film. Over all RE 2 was deffinately one of the best films this year.
Ive got high hopes for the third one.

lol we are talking about the RE with Milla Jovovich and Michelle Rodriguez arent we?. It had those zombies that snarled rather than moaned and the make up was really bad. And a mutant with 14 inch tunge. lol well they were zombies i can tell you that much, its 28 DAYS LATER that didnt have any zombies , Besides i know there is much larger group of people who hated RE 1 than people who liked. Im one of the minority lol.

hmm the film ur thinking off it wasnt about a guy who woke up in hospital to find london completely trashed and did the "zombies" run. If so thats 28 DAYS LATER and it is total trash

UNCONSCIOUS, I do believe you're talking about the first RESIDENT EVIL film but maybe you never finished the movie.
Yes, the movie starts off with a virus spreading into a facility and the main computer starts to kill everyone in the compound. Then the girl (Milla Jovovich) wakes up after being gassed. She wanders into the mansion and meets a SWAT-type group of commandos (they're Umbrella soldiers). They enter the compound and one by one they're killed off. Remember a laser trap that cut some of them into pieces? There's a few zombies here and there and a creature from the actual game called the "licker" which evolves into a larger beast. The movie ends after the survivors escape a train and Milla Jovovich wakes up yet again in a lab. She breaks out and wanders outside to see that the whole city is in chaos.
Is that the one you're thinking of?

Hey, I really liked 28 DAYS LATER. I think I've watched that movie about 6 or 7 times by now. Maybe it does tend to get bogged down after they meet the military group but other than that, I thought the film was top notch.
And even though the "things" in the film weren't zombies, if I had to pick between 28 DAYS LATER and the new DAWN OF THE DEAD remake (because they are similar), I'd take 28 DAYS LATER.

oh yeah 28 DAYS LATER did have some good qualities about it, but i just it failed to live up to the hype it recieved. The really impressive thing about it is london being completely empty. As for the "things" pretty cool idea as long as their not passed of as zombies. If i wasnt lead to believe it was zombie filck i might have enjoyed it more

Oh, I agree that excessive hype over a movie can fatally kill any high expectations once you finally get the film in to view. I can think of several Asian flicks that I didn't enjoy as much as I could have if only I hadn't been overwhelmed with the massive heaps of hype that came before them.
But yes, as long as you realize that the cannibalistic "things" in 28 DAYS LATER weren't zombies, you can get along with the movie quite well with no strings attached.

I thought she also had a very nice (and sexy) swagger about herself in the movie too. Listening to the audio commentary on the DVD, she said she wanted to be JILL in every way in the movie. She even watched the video game and copied how her character walked and moved in it for the film.

As for other genre films, there's a two. There's The Time Machine (2002) remake where she played the love interest of the main star but she had blonde hair back then. Not nearly as sexy. There's also the tv mini-series, Helen of Troy (2003) where she played Helen, but again with blonde hair.
I'm kinda looking forward to a newer movie called VICTIMS. She's like the third star listed.
Plot Outline: Centers around a group of college students that begin to experience quite graphic and fairly horrifying visions from the past while undergoing a fraternity initiation.

Korea got a cool RESIDENT EVIL DVD boxset. They're both the DTS special editions with two discs and a nifty slipcase.
