It's a loaded poll and topic, just wanted to get a feel what actress carries the most clout in the genre from members of Horror Express.

What about Neve Campbell? The scream movies were awesome and she was in them!

I don't really think that any actress as of right now even comes close to Jaime Lee Curtis! But that's just my opinion.

Who did you vote for Poe?

Neve Campbell would be considered a recent scream queen.

BUT -- none of the girls listed would be *IMO* because they aren't in enough Horror Films and TV Series' don't count ("Angel"), ("Buffy")...

Jamie had:
Halloween
Halloween II
Halloween H20
Halloween: Resurrection
The Fog
Prom Night
Terror Train

I don't know about you, but for me Scream movies are just another attempt to make money on so-called horror movies. It is very close to be putted in category with "angel" and "buffy" series.
But opinions are different :)

Too early in the century to tell really. But I said "Other". Much as I love BUFFY and ANGEL, I don't think you can judge the scream queens by television. Personally, the only one to really register on the radar so far is Debbie Rochon, as far as I'm concerned with Linnea Quigley pulling a bit of a nice comeback as well. But Rochon is really it for now. But hey, it's early yet....

Incidentally, Morgan Webb was on X-PLAY recently doing a special on horror games, and she let out a scream a couple times which is literally one of the best I've ever heard. Combined with a tongue-in-cheek but nonetheless chilling demeanor on a special about violence in games, I would actually LOVE to see her in a horror film sometime.

Yes, ... I think the results and responses so far do make the point that was at the heart of the poll: There really isn't a true Queen of Horror ... heck, there may not even be an actual group of legitimate contenders.

I voted for Eliza Dushku ... her TV credits (Buffy and Tru Calling) aside, Soul Survivors and Wrong Turn were nice entries. More to the point, Dushku doesn't seem to mind being identified with the horror genre (from what I can tell).

Neve Campbell, who I adore, was accidently left off the poll. She has shown herself to take on a variety of roles (Panic, Drowning Mona, Three to Tango) of which Scream and its sequels are just part of her diverse resume.

So, perhaps an alternate question: Does the genre benefit or need an identifiable Queen of Horror actress? Why or why not?

Neve should be left off the list, simply because she says she would never do something as low as a horror film. What about the SCREAM movies, THE CRAFT and the upcoming CURSED? They were "psychological thrillers" or "supernatural thrillers." Shame since I think she's a talented actress and a charismatic personality. But just a bit of hypocracy there, don't you think?

Neve Campbell deserved to be on the list more than Halle Berry. ;)

What a good poll. I'm not too sure. I think that Jessica Biel could be shaping up to be a pretty good "scream queen" with TCM and Blade, who knows!
