I havent seen in these topics anything about Steven King's "IT".
What do you think about this old but for me very good movie, except for the ending it was very badly done. Almost every of my friends who saw this movie when it came out had some fobias about clowns :). So the thing is, I love IT.
I even made style xp visual style with IT Pennywise the Clown - IT (http://www1.themexp.org/view_info.php?id=40362)

Yeah I really liked the film. But it is a LONG time since I've seen it, so I don't know how well it would hold up for me.
The book was excellent, and I was a fan of that the moment I read it, when it was released.
1100 pages, but it was fun as hell to read at the time.

As far as the movie goes it was alright...I thought it could have been done alot better.
The problem for me is that I read the book long before I saw the movie. IT was the first major book that I read, I was 10 years old. It scared the shit out of me but I loved it. I've read it 7 times since then. So that pretty much ruined the movie for me.

[B][FONT=Times][SIZE=1][SIZE=1] i thought IT was a very good movie. I personally am a very big fan of Stephan King and i love all of his movies. I would recommend this movie to anybody who is in for a really good horror movie. The acting was pretty good. There were a few parts that didn't seem to fit the movie but it all worked it self out in the end. and i really liked it. :D definatly a good movie.

Hello All,
I'll just reiterate, on what everyone else has said. It was a great "made for T.V. movie". It could have been done much better, but remember, this is T.V., no blood and guts allowed, at least not in 1990. I didn't care for the ending though, movies with a big giant Spider representing Evil, just fall flat, but all in all a fun and scary good time.
As for the coment "UnHoly" mentioned, I think every Old guy will SCREAM like a little school Girl at the site of a DEMONIC clown. I notice that anything from childhood, seem to creep you out as you get older, Demonic childeren does it for me.
On the subject of Steven King, I must add that, I do dislike his Sci-Fi. This is, of course, my opinion, but King can't write Sci-Fi. Prime examples of this are:
The Tommyknockers, The Longoliers, and Dream Catcher. I thought each started out well, but the pay off was pathetic. He should stick with horror. I compare Dreamcatcher with a story he did about little novelty chopping teeth, and well Mr.Chomper's wins the cake.
Incidently, The Mr.Chomper's tale was done in a movie anthology called "Quicksilver Highway". This features Christopher Loyd as a Nomadic Story Collecter, weaving tales of horror done by Steven King and Clive Barker. The Tales in question are Steven Kings "Chattering Teeth" and Clive Barkers "Body Politics". I was very pleased with this, though low buget. A movie to put beside Creepshow and Creepshow 2.

Classic flick!. I ain't like the big spider thing toward the end either, but it's a great movie. The killer clown gimmick is the shit.

Yeah, I always thought that was a strange choice in the book, which I read upon release. It's not the only strange idea in their either.
But, yeah, IT is clearly the best example of the old evil clown idea. I don't even know what comes 2nd, but it's distant.

desiring the once going to be, possibly still gonna be remake. hopefully alittle darker, not saying the original wasn't.
