Just wondered what the members of Horror Express regarded as the top horror films and performances of 2003? If this was all ready done sometime earlier on the board, forgive me.

How can you say crispin glover was the worst actor in a horror movie. He single handily made that movie work. No one else could have done that movie and made it work. He should have been nominated for a best actor in a horror movie. But that's your opinion, I guess. :erm:

"ghost ship" wasnt a bad horror too. for 2003.

Asian movies aside for the time being (because they would probably win all the awards)...

Best Film: Hands down, House of 1000 Corpses for simply it's sheer garish wackiness and visuals!

Best Scene: There's three tied for best. There's the treetop head-chop from Wrong Turn, the bullet hole cam at the beginning of TCM 2003, and the thigh-fingering from Cabin Fever.

Best Male Performance: "Sid Haig, House of a 1000 Corpses" - I agree with ya there, POE.

Best Female Performance: Kate Beckinsale from Underworld. Not really for her preformance but for how she looked as she was poured into her skin tight leather catsuit.

Best Makeup and/or SFX: LOTR: Return Of The King. Even though the movie wasn't all that, the overwhelming amount of CGI that assulted the viewer was just awesome.

Best Score / Soundtrack: Tied for best is House of 1000 Corpses (I absolutely love RZ tunes) and 28 Days Later.

Most Overrated Film: Freddy Vs Jason. Fast forward to the final fight at the end and save yourself the time (and trouble) of watching the whole movie.

Worst Film: Beyond Re-Animator was a total disgrace to the series and the legend of Herbert West.

Film Most Deserving a Sequel/Prequel: House of 1000 Corpses, which is hopefully on the way already.

I'm going to have to step on peoples toes but House of 1000 corps and TCSM for best films? These both sucked Donkey balls IMO. The remake of TCSM was a pile of Steaming Human Excrement and a remake that should have been band, this is what makes me shiver thinking of what DOD might be. House of a 1000 corpses was a .... I don't know what the HELL it was, it wasn't entertaining that's for sure!

If I had to do some picking this is what it would be:

Best Film: Alien-The Directors Cut with Wrong Turn, Underworld, 28 Day's later, though lacking and Freddy vs. Jason. coming in as runnerups

Best Scene:This would of course go to the Chest buster scene in Alien once again, but watching Poor Kelly Rowland getting splatered in F vs.J was fun and yes it's got to be the chase through the tree tops in Wrong Turn.

Best Male Prefomer: Alway, Robert Englund. He bring such fun to the Freddy character.

Best Female Preformer: Toss up again, Kate Bekinsail, for the reasons Devil Man stated, and Eliza Dushka, for the Tank Top extravaganza!

Best Makeup and SPFX: I have to say the people who did the Werewolves and morffing in Underworld.

Best score/Soundtrack: Alien-The director's cut

Most overated films : well the two I mentioned above as well as House of the Dead

Worst Film: Jeepers Creepers 2, House of the Dead, TCSM and you got it House of 1000 blunders

Film most deserving a Sequel or Prequel: None IMO, but I would be nice to see an Underworld with some more character and plot development.

Well that's my pick, sorry for pissing anyone of but 2003 was not a great yer for horror, hopefully 2004 will be better, I mean it is looking up with a DOD remake, just as long as it dosen't suck and blow like TCSM did.
