No secret I'm a big fan of our horror icons - meaning, those people who have a definite impact on the genre and more importantly, treat it with loads of respect. I'm also always rooting for independent upstarts looking to shake things up in the genre. Which is why I was thrilled to read the following story at :
"Scream queen Brinke Stevens and screenwriter Sean O'Bannon have formed Unholy Alliance Entertainment, a production company geared towards making quality horror / sci-fi films on modest budgets.
Their intended kick-off project is an action-vampire opus entitled "Blood Of My Blood." The story of an ill-fated vampire hit-squad funded by the descendent of Abraham Van Helsing, the project is garnering great interest for funding and distribution due to its cast of committed horror all-stars: Tom Savini, Barbara Crampton, Debbie Rochon, David Hess and Reggie Bannister have all agreed to star along with Ms. Stevens.
The script is prime horror pulp: when a viscious female vamp (Stevens) orders and executes the elimination of an elite vamp hunting squad, its founder (Savini) joins with his team leaders (Crampton, Hess) in Los Angeles to find and stop Stevens and her minions once and for all. As the bodies begin to pile up, L.A. Homicide detective Bannister finds himself in over his head as an ancient feud between a secret army and undead demons comes to a climax in his jurisdiction."
Sounds like fun to us. Horror Express wishes Unholy Alliance the best of luck with this project.
