these movies aren't really horror, they're psychological thrillers...

Watch The Beyond. Seven Doors of Death was severely cut from what I have heard/read.

As would mine. I just catalogued my movies 2 weeks a go and I'm at around 300 horror movies out of a grand total of over 700. If you really want a list, I can post, but as I said, it's long.

Some of my favorite "Special Edition" or obscure DVD's...
1. My most treasured DVD is my limited edition 2-disc PAL import "Director's Cut" of the GREATEST JAPANESE MOVIE EVER MADE... BATTLE ROYALE. It comes in a metal tin with a pair of DVD's. It contains a numbered hand-cut piece of film cell taken directly from the theatrical print, a postcard mini-map of the island, and a small booklet. Check out the pictures:

My film cell from the set was the BR Girl standing in front of the tv screen saying... "You are on a deserted island that looks like this."
2. Even though the movie wasn't great shakes, I think my "neatest" DVD is the Japanese Region 2 import "Making Of" DVD of PRINCESS BLADE. It's packed with a DVD, a card, and it's shipped in a huge "Collector's Slipcase" with an awesome limited edition resin statue of the heroine, Yuki (actress YUMIKO SHAKU) packaged with it. Pretty nifty, I must say.

3. Ah, autographed DVD's... ya gotta love 'em! There was a local toy / comic convention sometime back and PETER JURASIK who plays Londo Mollari from the excellent BABYLON 5 tv series was there. I got him to sign the DVD for me.
It was kinda funny too. When I handed him the DVD, he said... "Well, look at that. I didn't even know BABYLON 5 was out on DVD yet."
I guess he didn't get his cut of the profits then?

4. Another wacky-but-cool Japanese import DVD I picked up is the DEVIL MAY CRY "Sacred Heart" DVD Boxset. It's a music video collection based on the Playstation 2 game with jazzy tunes put to the CGI graphics from the actual horror-survival videogame. It comes in a slipcase with the DVD in a snapcase and there's even a thick book included that tells the complete story of the characters and the game itself (and most of the text is even printed in English too). It's an odd item for fans of the game, but it's still VERY cool.

5. Another mention goes out to my LUCIO FULCI limited edition THE BEYOND (aka THE SEVEN DOORS OF DEATH) metal tin by ANCHOR BAY, numbered 06365 of 20000. Being an old-school Italian horror movie fan, it's right awesome and completely out-of-print now. It's got the uncut version of the film (1:85:1 anamorphic widescreen and remastered in Dolby 5.1) on a DVD loaded with extras, six international poster replica postcards, and a huge 48-page book featuring FULCI's film history. Check out the tin scan:

More to come as soon as I get the images ready.
