70's movie title

I need help with a title. I never saw the movie but I remember in the promo that it showed a camper in a sleeping bag trying to hop away from some monster. A friend of mine saw the movie back then and he told me that the monster had been created by mercury contamination in the streams by loggers. I don't know how accurate that is because the conversation was over twenty years ago. Does anyone remember that movie?

It's "Prophecy". Great trailer...crap film.
The UK version is also slightly trimmed. Strangely enough this is on the UK Sci-Fi channel this week! Bad film though.

it was a decent film...
it has Armande Asante and that one bitch from Rocky (ADDDDDDDRRRRRRIAAAN!!)
