Hmmm, I really like the nightmare on elm street 3, or the childs play 2 theme. Or the halloween theme by John Carpenter. All atchy music and I would listen t o all of them on the soundtracks, oh yeh i do.

Goblin's work on Suspiria is incredible. Riz Ortalini's work on Cannibal Holocaust is simple yet highly effective. Anything by Danny Elfman & the score for Saw by Charlie Clouser.

The Jorg Buttgereit films carry very haunting piano heavy scores by Jon Boy Walton, etc. Nekromantik 1 and 2, Der Todes King, and Hot Love are the best examples.
Have a soft spot for Goblin, John Carpenter, and ROTLD... oh, and Phantasm.

Morricone's 'The Thing'
Herrmann's 'Cape Fear' (especially bassier Scorsese remake)
Carpenter's 'Halloween' themes
Themes of 'Fargo' and 'Burn after Reading' (very similar)
