Finally, things are really looking up for CURSED! Oh, I hated reporting again and again how bad things were going with this one, people. I don't WANT bad horror, I don't WANT these things to fail. But the news just... well, not good.
But if you're going to make any steps in the right direction, ditching Corey Feldman and Scott Baio is one hell of a start. The two former teen idols (people used to like them, really!) were set to appear as themselves in Wes Craven's troubled production. But as most of the script has been shuffled off this mortal coil, their roles have been thrown to the dogs, according to Moviehole. Bummer, Mr. Feldman. Wa-wa-waaah, Mr. Baio.
Being added to the cast is Joshua Jackson of DAWNSON'S CREEK fame. He was the hearttrob who always seemed like a nice guy, even if the level of puffiness in his face fluctuated so much, it made you think he was having an allergic reaction. Also on board is R&B superstar Mya, who also had a small role in the Oscar-winning CHICAGO last year.
Portia Di Rossi, Christina Ricci, Scott Foley, Skeet Ulrich and Mandy Moore are all still signed onto the film. Shannon Elizabeth also returned for reshoots recently and she is ecstatic about Kevin Williamson's script which backs up what everyone else has been saying - that it's much, much better than before.
I can't tell you what a relief it is to report this after endless delays and debacles on the production. Maybe the CURSE will be lifted on this production yet.
