In my defense, I would not have to pass along so many stories from if they didn't have so much cool stuff to report. Your own fault, guys. You've created a monster.
New Line is so thrilled with FREDDY VS. JASON that they are already talking sequels. A franchise from a spin-off of two separate franchises? Surely this must set some kind of record.
The talk is to pair the two with other horror icons. In an exclusive, the Corner credits "reliable sources" with what would ordinarily sound like fanboy masturbation. Yje prospect of pitting the famous villains against the beloved Ash from the EVIL DEAD films has been met with surprising enthusiasm.
Things are still in the very early talking stages at New Line and it's unlikely anyone has been approached on this offer.
Well HE readers, hate to piss on your fireworks, but I think it won't happen. Bruce Campell has said many times in the past that there would be no EVIL DEAD 4. So it seems unlikely he would agree to a spin-off, especially since Sam Raimi would likely be too pre-occupied with other projects to be involved.
Still, I'd love to be wrong and you've gotta admit, it's the coolest news to come by in a while.
