Whats the rarest most hard to find films you've ever looked for? To what lengths did it take for you to finally obtain them?

Invaders From Mars 1953. Its the one with the little boy seeing a spaceship crash into a hill on his farm, then his father goes to investigate and gets sucked up by the hill. When they first released it, it was limited edition and cost me £40. I had to wait 3 weeks for it to arrive. Then a few months later they released it genrally and you could get it really easily. Prior to this the highest price I saw it at was £54.50.

Also getting Reanimator (the first one) on DVD in the UK used to be like pulling teeth.

Also they have just released The Original Addams Family series One on DVD in the States, so you can get it on Region One DVD if you have a multi region DVD player (or like me a Fiance with a degree in Electronic Engineering who can fiddle with e region Two DVD player and turn it into a multi region).

None of these are that rare but worth finding.

I have been trying to find "The Devils" (1971) for some time. What I'd really like would be for them to release it on DVD with the full Rape of Christ scene and the end scene with the bone intact, but I doubt they will. Alas, a girl can dream. I shall have to stick to my hiddeously cut Video Version and fill in the blanks myself.

For me the harest to track down were any of the Viennese Aktionist films, expecially films by Kurt Kren. The majority of these films are still beleived to have never been converted from the original film reels.

The original Criterion DVD release of Salo: the 120 Days of Sodom with the white ring generally goes for more than $1000.
