This is just getting insane! Every day I think I won't be reporting on more troubles in regards to CURSED. Almost every day, I am proven wrong. Hey, I don't want the film to fail, I don't want it to turn out bad. And maybe it still won't. But the news on this film is just getting worse and the title becomes more ironic every day.

has announced that shooting has indeed stopped on the beleagured Wes Craven horror film. Dimension's PR department is trying to downplay the events as much as possible. Are the statements true or are they covering their investment? Who knows? But here's the scoop.

Dimension says the film is indeed on a four week hiatus and will begin shooting again in September. The studio says the hiatus was planned to re-evaluate where the film stands. They were unhappy with the film's ending (didn't they already state that reshoots of that were underway?) and, in a surprising move have said they were unhappy with the werewolf design.

The design was done by Rick Baker, who packed up his Cinovation company last week and sent the molds to KNB under mysterious circumstances. , the details of the departure were sketchy, with allegations that Baker's crew was fed up with the on-again, off-again production. Now, there is some confusion over whether Baker was pressured to leave.

Funny, while I am a big fasn of KNB, and feel they are more than up to the task, I can't help but scratch my head that Dimension would be unhappy with the creature design from the most respected team in the field.

In addition to the new effects house, the script from former Miramax wunderkind Kevin Williamson will be reworked and the ending spice up again. , amid rumors of problems with the ending and securing a cast. Some people, like Never Campell were cast after the film had gone into production.

As points out, it is unknown how many cast members will be able to return, when shooting is scheduled to resume next month. Dimension is still aiming for a February 2004 release date.
