[I 160w deadofnight I]It seems CABIN FEVER director Eli Roth just can't be stopped. In addition to

DRAWN, , Roth looks set to take on a remake of Bob Clark's 1972 film, (a.k.a. DEATHDREAM).

Things are busy for Roth, whose CABIN FEVER is getting more positive buzz that many American horror films of late. The always reliable mentions several Roth projects, including THE BOX, 1408 and "a raunchy sex comedy for Universal Studios" (AMERICAN FLESH-EATING PIE perhaps?). Now, Workshead has optioned this film. Who knows what will get accomplished first? Personally, my money is on Stephen King's 1408 to be the first to get axed.

Bob Clark is an interesting bird. In the 1970s, he was one of the most interesting faces in horror. He created projects as diverse as (one of the first and greatest slasher films), MURDER BY DECREE and CHILDREN SHOULDN'T PLAY WITH DEAD THINGS. In the 1980s, he surprised many by directing the first two PORKY'S films before jumping into the holiday classic A CHRISTMAS STORY. But don't pat him on the back too hard. Unfortunately, he stumbled with RHINESTONE and the unintentionally hilarious TURK 182! His most recent projects are THE KARATE DOG and BABY GENIUSES 2: SUPERBABIES. Bob has a lot of explaining to do.
