Damn, this is exciting! Back when I made my blanket statement, I was slightly confident that I wasn't overselling things. Amazingly enough, in a rare occurence, I was right.
Look at the results, kiddies. In theatres: 28 DAYS LATER, HOUSE OF THE DEAD, HOUSE OF 1000 CORPSES. Currently filming or in the planning stages: DAWN OF THE DEAD, RESIDENT EVIL 2, ALONE IN THE DARK. On DVD all over the world: WILD ZERO, VERSUS, STACY, JUNK, BEYOND RE-ANIMATOR. And that's just the highlights. Whether you think this is good or bad, there's no doubt zombies are finally getting some lovin'.
In the same article, I talked about an interesting new Aussie horror film, UNDEAD. Since we reported on it last January, the film has generated some fantastic buzz.
Now, shortly after it got distribution in Australia and the UK, Lion's Gate (who also distributes CORPSES, HOUSE OF THE DEAD and ALONE IN THE DARK) has picked up the U.S. rights to this acclaimed zombie-fest. So, now everyone gets to see the zombies at play.
No news on when the release will be, but you can expect to see it in mid-2003, early 2004.
