Allright, more news on the HOUSE OF 1000 CORPSES DVD that's coming out on August 12 in the U.S. The news isn't all good either. But you gotta hand it to Rob Zombie for being so up-front about things. According to , he was recently asked whether the new DVD will indeed be the director's cut. Here's what he had to say:
"It's the theatrical version... I know it's a kinda of a scam in the DVD market to put out the cheesy version first then hit everybody with the real version later but this version, even though it's the theatrical version, is Super Deluxe. We did something I don't think anyone's done before. They sort've half ass did it on GOLDMEMBER, but we went back and got all the cast members together and filmed 20 minutes extra of interactive menus so all the characters are talking to you and screaming at you to choose a feature and to do different things."
So, something to look forward to on the release, even if it is the same cut as before. Apparantly, a Special Edition is coming then. But then, what's with Zombie's comments to Rue Morgue about the theatrical cut being the director's cut. We'll just never get to the bottom of this one, I'm afraid.
