[I 170w cabinfever_post I]If Lion's Gate has their way, he is. And if half the things I'm hearing about CABIN FEVER are true, that might not just be meaningless hype. Roth has created a film that has captured the imagination and won the hearts of the lucky few who have had a chance to see it. The rest of the US and Canada will get to see it in the fall, with Europe sure to follow close behind.
But Roth isn't just waiting for the acolades to die down. He has been presented with a number of screenplays, one of which has tickled his fancy.
Lion's Gate looks sure to acquire the rights to DRAWN, the tale of a tortured artist who finds his artistic visions being the basis of great evil. Roth is not being silent over his enthusiasm of the project. He gave folks at this OSBOURNES-like rant:
"DRAWN is the only script I've ever read that stopped me dead in my tracks and made me say I HAVE TO DIRECT THIS. It's so beautifully fucked up and disturbing, I think it will be an incredible horror film. It's very different from CABIN FEVER, which is much more at the DEAD ALIVE/ EVIL DEAD end of the horror spectrum. The tone of this one is much closer to THE EXORCIST or THE SHINING. Fucked up, and hardcore R rated, but not so much a gore film as just a terrifyingly disturbing movie."
Great, now I'm dying to see this too! Incidently, I do reccomend you get to that link at for a very entertaining interview with Mr. Eli Roth and a look at the official CABIN FEVER poster (different from the one pictured here). If you want to see the teaser to CABIN FEVER, just check out our ptevious story .
