[I 140w houseof1000corpses I]Remember when Sigourney Weaver said in ALIEN 3, "You've been in my life so long, I don't remember anything else?" That's how I feel about posting reports on . Ahh well, it's a good flick and we've got news on the Region 1 DEAD & BURIED as well.
Lion's Gate will release the HOUSES DVD on August 12th in a nifty tri-fold packaging designed by Rob Zombie himself. Zombie has also filmed various featurettes that will be included on the disc. You will also get trailers, screen tests a still gallery, an isolated musical score and Zombie director commentary.
As for the deleted stuff, Lion's Gate is being downright cagey about that. "Some parts of this film are very graphic, too much so that we had to tone it down for the theatrical release," Lion's Gate bigwig Peter Block said. "But in the DVD, it's all here, just as Rob intended, in all its striking and vivid detail." Note that does not say exactly how much was cut out, how much will be included and how it will be included on the disc.
[I 110h deadburied_post I]As for DEAD & BURIED, a PAL Special Edition has been available for a while now. But that will pale in comparison to the feast Blue Underground is serving folks in North America. The 2-disc Limitied Edition (50,000 copies) includes THREE audio commentaries! First up is director Gary A. Sherman. Then, we have writer/producer Ronald Schusett with actress Linda Turley. And finally a commentary with cinematographer Steve Poster.
Then, once you get done with the trailers and such, it's onto the second disc for the featurettes and docs, STAN WINSTON'S DEAD & BURIED EFX, ROBERT ENGLUND: AN EARLY WORK OF HORROR and DAN O'BANNON: CRAFTING FEAR. It also includes original location stills. That hits shelves on July 29th.
