[I 160w angel04 I]David Boreanaz, who last we heard was in negotiations for that coveted SUPERMAN role, has stepped onto THE CROW: WICKED PRAYER... as the villain.
Boreanaz is best known for his role as the vampire Angel, who started off on BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER before spinning off to a show of his own. Although Joss Whedon still has plans to continue ANGEL, it has yet to be picked up for a fifth season.
So what does Boreanaz think of starring in the fourth CROW movie? "I didn't even know there was a third CROW movie," jokingly told . (HE Note: THE CROW: SALVATION starred Eric Mabius and Kirsten Dunst. It was released in a single theatre for one week, before going to video)
THE CROW: WICKED PRAYER stars Edward Furlong (TERMINATOR 2: JUDGEMENT DAY) as the title character who is murdered along with his girlfriend by a gang of Satanic bikers. Furlong comes back as The Crow to avenge their deaths, only to discover the man he's after may be immortal. Boreanaz joins Dennis Hopper and Luke Gross in the cast. This fourth installment is directed by Lance Mungia (SIX-STRING SAMURAI).
THE CROW: WICKED PRAYER will film in June 2004. This will give him plenty of time to return to ANGEL, should the show be picked up for a fifth season.
Sure hope Boreanaz brings some class to this sagging series. He's a skilled actor who should make a successful leap to feature films. He has starred in a romantic comedy called I'M WITH LUCY, a film that should have gotten a big theatrical release but didn't. Unfortunately, his only post-BUFFY film in the genre is VALENTINE. And that's just... sad.
