Has anyone out there seen Lars Von Trier's THE KINGDOM? It's incredible. A supernatural thriller set in a sprawling hospital. It's a 4 1/2 hour film that spawned a sequel, both of which feature cliffhangers. However, chances of Von Trier doing a KINGDOM III have been slim since some of the principal cast has now passed away.

Perhaps the answers will be solved in the American remake. Yes, this is getting the U.S. makeover too, but not in the way you might expect.

According to , Stephen King has finally finished the screenplay to the proposed miniseries, KINGDOM HOSPITAL. Running a full 15 hours (approximately six hours longer than the two films), the scripts have been turned in and casting is expected to begin in May. The miniseries would run in 2004 on ABC in the U.S.

The format will consist of a two hour premiere episode, followed by 13 one hour installments.
