I am DMX. Okay, not really but I was feeling the vibe. The rapper, who says he will retire from music soon to focus on his family and the Bible, doesn't appear to be slowing down his movie career.
says DMX is interested in taking on an upcoming film called WEREWOLF. DMX wouldn't be playing the werewolf himself. Rather, he's a blues man who travels the country playing gigs and hunting down lycanthropes. He follows one of the last groups of werewolves to the Hollywood Hills. And guess what? It's directed by Dario! Well, Dario Di Piana. I'm sorry, it's 4:00 AM here and I couldn't resist. If this is the same person listed at the IMDB, Di Piana helmed the late giallo entry, TOO BEAUTIFUL TO DIE and wrote several scripts for Italian television.
DMX has had his eye on the horror/fantasy world for some time now. You may remember he was to be the subject of the fourth CROW movie, called CROW: LAZARUS, in which he would have played the title character. But alas, the franchise went in a different direction. In the meantime, DMX followed up the acclaimed BELLY with some action pictures like ROMEO MUST DIE, EXIT WOUNDS and CRADLE 2 THE GRAVE. Will he be able to channel that success in the horror genre? And if so, what will be the reception of his fans, and horrorphiles?
WEREWOLF is expected to begin shooting in the fall.
