And I bet that if they were sold seperately prior to this boxset, they had enjoyable cover designs too.
I can only imagine what the wacky artwork for FERTILIZE THE BLASPHEMING BOMBSHELL, SPACE ZOMBIE BINGO, and CROAKED: FROG MONSTER FROM HELL might have been.

Yeah, I got the first "Book of the Dead". Gotta get that second one now. It said in Fangoria that it even screams when you press the eyeball. SWEET. :teeth:

Didn't see this thread before. Regarding me reviewing the Troma set, that ship has pretty much sailed. I reviewed one of the Toxie Three Packs for CultCuts. Two of those films (FERTILIZE THE BLASPHEMING BOMBSHELL and STUFF STEPHANIE IN THE INCINERATOR) are included here. In other words, it seems to be cobbled together from previous Toxie 3 Packs and my guess is that there will a couple more ten packs that exhaust the material in those sets.
But here's where you are mistaken - THESE ARE TROMA ACQUISITIONS! What's the difference? A lot. Homegrown Troma movies are great, I love 'em - CLASS OF NUKE 'EM HIGH, SGT. KABUKIMAN, TERROR FIRMER, TROMEO & JULIET (my favorite) and of course the TOXIC AVENGER movies. Troma acquisitions are culled from the monster pile of films Lloyd Kauffman gets sent to him. He picks films that he believes 1. Fit under the Troma banner and 2. that he can afford to distribute. Sadly, these films are often very big letdowns.
Take FERTILIZE THE BLASPHEMING BOMBSHELL - a really bad but dead serious horror film with tons of plot holes and the worst lighting you will ever see. I had to crank up my monitor resolution just to snap screengrabs for my review. The title was changed because it just wasn't Troma enough before. STEPHANIE is at least as bad - a film noir without the noir and with barely any film. The antagonist however does look uncannily like Tommy Shaw of Styx and Damn Yankees, which is reason enough to fear him.
