[I 180w alien_04 I] has given us our second great scoop this week (the first being that awesome a few days ago). It all has to do with a certain Ridley Scott classic called ALIEN that will get a major theatrical release this fall. Here's what they say:

"Although the film will not celebrate the 25th Anniversary of its release until May 25, 2004, Fox has scheduled a wide reissue of the film for Halloween, October 31. No word yet on whether director Ridley Scott will be reincorporating deleted footage or not."

ALIEN is the film that got me fascinated with horror. It was the first horror film to have a positive impact on me and I've seen it close to a hundred times. No, I'm not kidding.

The "deleted footage" the brief talks about refers to tons of controversial footage left on the cutting room floor. Some of this footage can be accessed on the 20th Anniversary DVD issued by Fox a couple years back.

Restored footage or not, I will be lining up to see the chestbursters and facehuggers as they appeared for the first time.
