Hey!
Thanks and Yeah, it's always a pleasure to meet one of you Devilman fans. I'm actually very open not to just one topic but to all. The Live Action TV series for Devilman was last aired at January 2005 after the movie was made. Although I can't find the picture of the actor on last time I saw it but I will get it since you guys are really wondering if it's ever better than the movie itself.
By the way, Have you ever heard of "Screaming Mad George's Lady Devilman"?
It's a book filled with live models posing for the Devilman series?
Stay Tune for the pics.

Wow, and here I thought my "Web-Fu" was pretty good. I've never ever heard of a live-action tv series anywhere. You've got me extremely interested about it now.
Got any names of the cast? We could start there looking for more info.

Bloody Mary

Yeah, we could start from there.
Well I don't have the casting list for it so that'll have to wait including the search for the info. Anway I am going to be out for 4 days due to some unfinished buisness I have to take care of. But don't worry I'll probably bring some souveneirs of info and goodies to keep.
Speaking of the casting of the D-man TV series, the movie was somehow missing all the badass demon action. Like when Akira transform into Devilman, he just kills his oncoming enemy. But what about just adding more demons like a scene where not just one but more demons come crashing down from above the lab. Another scene I thought was going to be interesting was the battle between Siren and Devilman. The fight between them didn't even last for more than 1 minute. Last but not least, what's with the half-ass demon faces? The part where Akira fights the demons in the Monster Cafe. It wouldn't hurt just to change into a demon and lash out with fury. Of course order more for carnage that has been reduced to just puking and getting wounded.
I think the director is being so uptight and not letting the creative juices flowing. They shouldn't be afraid to put ideas that should only fit in today's centuary of cool. They let their ideas fly. Like artists, they let their real energy's come out with free spirit and turns out people like their art. All those special features in the Devilman movie with test screening scenes with Silene and Devilman (from the ova anime scenes) could have been there.
Well that's all for today! I will be back...
By the way, did you know there was going to a "Devil May Cry" movie?

Well, there were actually a few fights (the more popular ones from the anime and manga) but they were short and as lame as they could get. But that's what happens when you try to squeeze so much material into one movie. I've always said that DEVILMAN needed at least two movies to make a decent attempt at covering all the bases.

Yup, me too. This was the battle I was sooooo looking forward to seeing rendered in grand live-action glory. And boy, was I ever disappointed. However, outta the entire film, their scenes together are probably the best thing about this whole mess.

According to what I read online, director HIROYUKI NASU died of cancer shortly after the film's release so there's no way for him to make up for this movie. Besides, and I'm NOT taking jabs at a dead man, but he was probably the wrong director for this movie to begin with.

Why not just go completely CGI? Even if the story had still been as shitty as the live-action version, it would have at least looked alot better.

Sorrry.... No disrespect towards the dead man.
I guess it does happen like that with movies being made, people like Aaliyah who died after filming in the movie "Queen of the Damned".

I had heard rumor rumblings about it some time ago but nothing concrete. Anything new in development?
If I can find the image, I'll post it. I had a mock pix of actor CHRISTIAN BALE (of Equilibrium and Batman Begins fame) doctored up as Dante. It looked pretty good from what I remember of it.

Perhaps you confused the new live action series with an older animated series? I fear such an animal may not exist.

It's just some gag look right? Is it from the movie equilibrium, if you can clarify that for me
Also, I keep reading movie summaries and they keep confusing about whose going to be by Dante's side. Either it's Trish or Lucia.

Actually they do plan to release it in theaters.
As for the Live Action TV Devilman series, there is such a thing. You know there was a picture of a guy with a buzz cut (who plays Akira Fudo), smashes a mirror with his fist. On his reflection is Devilman his altered version. I saw this at a japanese website and I didn't think of it much to save it to my files. Well, :whistling: later on I kind of regreted it. I absolutely have no doubt about it.
I'm still on the search for it on yahoo for that image.

Yeah, it looks like they took a screen capture from Equilibrium and worked it up on Paintshop Pro or something. It's a closeup of him pointing a gun directly at you. They changed his hair color to white and gave him the red and black outfit.
Damn, I've looked and looked but I think I might have deleted the image from my harddrive. I'll check around some more later.

Sadly, that's not an image from any series. That's actually a fan art image from a digital artist in Japan named Maria Igarashi. She and I chatted a bit a couple years ago when I stumbled across her site. I had her linked on my Devilman site, but her links are dead, as is her email and I don't have current info on her. She's a pretty good artist as I recall. As for the afore mentioned TV series, other than the 70's series I am not aware of it. My spies have yet to uncover news of any current live action Devilman series, but that doesn't mean it can't happen!

I know exactly how you feel.
Several times I've popped the DVD in to show some highlights from the movie to my friends and really had to stretch the truth as to why the film's worth them seeing these scenes.
I think the whole Selene sequence is probably the movie's finest moment in my opinion. What was your favorite? Or rather, if you had to show a small part of the movie to someone new, what part would that be?

I was terribly disappointed with the Silene sequence. It wasn't nearly long as it should have been, and the ending was just retarded. No gore, No flying limbs, No Kaimu just Silene walking away. My favorite segment was Armageddon (minus the Mico and Susumu fiasco) as it was the closest to the manga. The scale of the war and destruction between Devilman and Satan could have been upped a bit I felt, but overall it was good. The cg was the best it was in the movie I felt, although Devilman and Satan were pretty stiff. I would have to show that part to friends I would say. In a day or so, I'll post my complete thoughts good and bad, so we can bounce back and forth on it.

Oh, don't get me wrong, compared to the original manga and anime, it comes up completely lame, no agrument there. But I was thinking of the more cinematic aspect of that sequence. From the opening when the feathers float down to the window and then the battle in the sky and through the city, for those who don't know otherwise (my friends), it's a decent scene to highlight.

From that aspect, I could agree on that. If only the detail and entire sequence had been coupled with that and we would have had one hell of a battle to watch.

I'm assuming that you've already scanned in the various pix from the book, right? If so, all you have to do now is host them on a website (or homepage) and then hyperlink them for display by using the "IMG" tab at the top of every posting form. Simply "right click" on the image and go to it's properties. Then "copy and paste" that url string inbetween the two "IMG" brackets. Good to go.
Of course, if you don't have your own website, then you can always e-mail the pix to me and I'll host them for you from my blog. Just let me know. I don't mind at all.

As long as it's tasteful, I don't see a problem. Considering that DEVILMAN LADY is bare chested, that must be the nudity you're refering to. And if that's the case, I wouldn't count that as pornographic material, it's simply art.
Of course, I'm not the owner of this site (I'm just a writer) but nudity was discussed earlier when I started the "Pretty Japanese Girl Post Of The Week" thread and again, as long as it was done tastefully, there's no issues.
But hey, I wanna see those DEVILMAN LADY pix something awful so if you're really worried about the nudity thing, as I said before, just send me the pix through e-mail and I'll post 'em here and take any heat that JOHN or SCOTT might try to throw at me.
Just let me know what you'd like to do.

OH MY GOD!!!!! :woot:
You're the model Gina Shannon for "Screaming Mad George's Lady Devilman"?! It is pleasure to meet you! How are you? I'm actually a big fan of your other previous modeling shoots. Do still go on with your modeling career? Do have any other future shoots? What was your exprience after shooting for "Screaming Mad George's"? Have you ever watched the original anime of Devilman Lady?
Also, how did you found out about our website?
Anyway, my name's Bloody Mary. And welcome to HORROR EXPRESS! :)

Yup, good question if that is indeed the real GINA.
And if it is really her, I hope there's no problems with posting her pix on these threads.
