No there is no such thing of it although the only thing available version for it was in French. But, I did e-mailed to TOKYOPOP about having an English version of the manga, and they did say that they would definitely give it a careful consideration on their next meeitng of establishing it. Also, I asked them of adding another Devilman series called "Amon: the Darkside of the Devilman" by Go Nagai and Yu Kinutani.

There are some websites related to the Devilman series:

1.) www.plasticxo.neuf.fr/plastic_Devilman/news.htm
- It contains deep info on media, figures, events, and rare looks into the
Devilman series

2.) www.devilmanthemovie.co.jp
- Devilman the movie website

3.) www.amazon.co.jp
-contains Japanese imports including the original Devilman manga.

If there's anything you need to know you can ask.

Also, I got a buzz from Japan saying they have a Live action TV series of Devilman.

We talked about that on one of your earlier posts. Which reminds me (not that it's such a bad thing), why don't we try to keep the DEVILMAN questions and info on just one thread here, not scattered all over the place. That way it'll be easier for everyone interested (not just us) to have all the DEVILMAN stuff in one place. I mean, we've got four threads going on now (not including this one)...

> Devilman I got a question For ya (http://www.horrorexpress.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=1682) <

> Devilman live action confusion (http://www.horrorexpress.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=1676) <

> Questions for a Beginning of a Devilman Fan (http://www.horrorexpress.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=1680) <

> I don't understand Devilman (http://www.horrorexpress.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=1685) <

Anyway, just a thought.

Thanks so much for the links, BLOODY MARY, and welcome to HORROR EXPRESS too. It's always good to have a new DEVILMAN fan around these here parts.

There is an english version of the series, two actually. One version was released in large format single volume called 'The Devil's Incarnation' in 1986. It runs about 208 pages, so I doubt it is the entire series considering the original is over 1,000 pages in length. The other is in fact the entire series, released by Kodansha Comics (the original publisher) in 2003 and I can verify that as I own it and have read it several times. It contains all 5 volumes in English and Japanese. I have written an exhaustive synopsis of the trnaslated collection on my site, but have not provided a word for word script as that would take forever. Hope that helps!

Maybe that's the SHIN-DEVILMAN manga?

That's the one I so desperately need! I've only got the Japanese language only versions.

I got mine off ebay literally 10 minutes after they were listed in 2003. That is the only set I have ever seen for sale anywhere, but if I run across one I'll certainly let ya know! I do have the entire thing typed up as a synopsis on my site which can be viewed here (http://www.devilworld.org).

Actually it isn't. I have a book called Tabulae Anatomicae that shows a pic from it. The pic shows the scene where Miki and Akira are talking in the schoolyard at the beginning of the manga. But like I said, I don't think it is the entire series. It might have just been an attempt at a translated series that never got off the ground. Interesting side note: The original editions of the manga had a different version of issue 3. Zannin is even briefly in it. Shin Devilman was released in later editions of the manga.

YES, please do.

I'm checking out your website now, nice site too. Pretty thorough synopsis.

Ah, I see. For what it's worth, I've read that Shin Devilman also had variant versions which featured side stories depicting some of the saga's minor characters.

Yup, they would be mine too.

As for the imports, I've only got two different sets myself. There's the smaller "pocket manga" (4.5 x 7 inches) by KC-DX. I don't know the dates on these. I got 'em from a Japanese seller off of eBay and they're alittle worn and yellowed. Then I've got the larger (6.5 x 8 inches) versions in a three volume set also by KC-DX. These are from 2000 and they have some color pinups. I got 'em from a seller off of eBay.

I do remember the French (I think) had a five volume set with awesome painted covers. Those would be great to have, simply for the cover artwork alone. Seen or have those yourself?

Thanks, I've been obsessed with Devilman since 1993 or so. I started Devilworld in 1999, and it just keeps growing and growing. Devilman is something I am very passionate about, and have devoted a large amount of time (and money!) reading, digging and finding anything I can about Devilman. I try to be as thorough as possible on EVERY detail.

I've read that myself, but I've only found the one version of Shin Devilman. I also forgot to mention that Glenn Danzig's Verotik comics reprinted the Shin Devilman stories, so there is a third set of english books! He had planned on releasing the entire series in english as early as 1995, but a falling out happened with him and Dynamic Productions over an obscenity case involving Verotik.

I've seen the French edtions, I may or may not have info on them in the Museum section of the site but I'm not sure. I did see them for sale once on ebay, but I was outbid by a figure with one too many zeroes in it. There is a 15 issues series put out by Italian publisher Granata Press that has amazing covers that I would love to get my hands on.

Are you sure? I saw another website that has some creator's note manga translated by some person that I don't know of on a another website. Whether it was some gag manga or the real thing. I'm confused if it was already being translated or being sold to the public.

But thanks for the info and the website! :)

Quite sure, as I said I own the set. I also mentioned in a previous post that I have only found that one set, I've yet to find another one ever. I'll take some pics of it for you and post them (my scanner is dead so I can't do that).

Hey Dracul!

I forgot to mention on my last post that I talked about myself e-mailing TOKYOPOP about licensing the Devilman series and they said they would definitely give careful consideration on their next meeting. This was from the other post 'TOKYOPOP's Devilman Manga Release'.

By the way, can you introduce yourself?

Those are nice covers, eventually I'll track down a set. I have images of the Italian books in the Museum section of Devilworld. They are the only images I have of the series, not too big but gives you the general idea.

The Granata 90's versions, yes, they are nice. A good mixture from the anime, manga, and original art. Some of the artwork though, I've never even seen anywhere else before.
