Holy crap, the ring japanese versions kick the shit out of the american ones.

I just finished watching Ring-0 the birthday!!!! Son of a bitch that kicked serious ass, what the hell, why does it have to be so freakin sad.

SOme god damn nice kill count.

but I have some questions.

SPOILERS maybe ahead.

Umm the other Sadako, what happens to her, do they merge....that end scene in the house really was disturbing.
Regardless...you mean she is down there 30 years? alive...bullshit..what happend to the boyfriend?? we dont find out...who the fuck is Sadakos father? I mean is there a fourth part? does it help?

OMG so good.

You might be talking about THE TWINS EFFECT. It's an older Hong Kong movie (from 2003) but it actually stars the HK duo, The Twins (hence the name of the film). Jackie Chan only has two cameos in it, and honestly, he nearly ruins the whole thing.

Here's a link to the website...

Then you'll be upset to know that the RING 0 is being remade by Hollywood. It's called THE RING 0: REBIRTH.

Here's the teaser poster design...

Now that I think about it, didn't Jackie Chan fight vampires (or was it mummies, or cannibals) in the old 80's movie FANTASY MISSION FORCE (aka Dragon Attack)?

Oh, and about THE TWINS EFFECT, the sequel (if you could call it that) has NOTHING to do with the first movie.

I did NOT enjoy the Japanese sequel myself. I thought it was terribly lame. C'mon, brain wave electricty shot into a pool of water to exorcise the angry spirits (which may or not exist)! What the fuck was all that about?!

As for the Hollywood sequel, I also heard terrible things about it. I didn't see it at the theatre but I'll more than likely buy it on DVD when it hits the shelves.

Okay I did like parts of Ring 2, japanese version. I liked it better then I liked the american version..

And ringu 0 OMG it freakin rocked ass. Seriously I nearly cried for sadoko. really it makes the whole thing come back around and makes you really feel like shit for her.

In fact at the end i was so sad man good on those fuckers in the woods.

I dont even see how they are gonna make the 3rd part american. I cant fucking see anyway to do it, some blond american cheerleader..YIPEEE.
oh god..shes gonna be some white girl isnt she! shit that really will blow.

AND WHO IS SADOKO (spelling) father???? arrghhh

Saw this...

Producer confirms a RING 3 is coming

Variety reports that producer Walter F. Parkes has stated that he, partner Laurie MacDonald and DreamWorks are planning a RING 3 (or RING THREE, if it follows the style of the previous sequel). Naomi Watts' character won't be back; instead, the movie will focus on a different character haunted by the cursed videotape. Parkes also said that this will be a smaller film than its predecessors, and "by its very nature a small, intimate movie." A writer has yet to be hired for the project. —Michael Gingold
Sounds like they just wanna cash in on the success of the franchise but this time with very little investment or risk from their end.

After the crappy US Ring 2, if they have any brains they would remake Ring 0, you can have lots of fun with that back story.

man ring 2 sucked.
and no the american version of ring 0 would suck, imagine all the pretty asian girls turned into bleached american girls.
sigh.
and oh my who would play samara?
an olsen?
god help us.
let them go their own way, for the love of god.

Um......ok.....then....I was simply stating that the US version of Ring 2 sucked when Hollywood came up with the script/storyline. They would be smart to stick with the already made Ring stories.

A fella named Ehren Kruger wrote the screenplay for the American RING 2 remake. Since I've never read the original RINGU novel by Koji Suzuki (I do have the first volume of the manga though), I can't say for sure what would have made a better film.

However, no matter how bad the remake might be, I do know for sure that the Japanese RINGU 2 is pretty worthless. I hated it! And it was actually written by Hideo Nakata himself, so go figure.
