It's almost like they exist for the sole reason of infuriating us. Yes, it's true. Dimension, the Miramax subsidiary responsible for and , as well as the burial of .

No, I'm not kidding.

The screenplay will be penned by Steven Katz, who to be fair, did write the impressive . No word yet on who will be directing or starring in the remake.

I guess I just don't see the need to remake this one. I don't like to be a pessimist, but like many remakes, this reeks of a cash-in. Not to crib from other sites any more than I am, seems to have it dead on when they say - "School + young leads + frights + built-in teen audience = $$$. That's all it is folks. I mean, this trade announcement didn't even have the standard, 'We believe the original film is a classic but it deserves a modern touch.' speech from a studio exec. So that's telling me they've got nothing but greed on their minds."

With the direction things were taking, I guess it had to happen sooner or later. Well, Dimension sure won't win any fans amongst the die-hard horror fans. They will, however, win the giggling teens who embraced URBAN LEGEND, think THE RING in an American film only and still insist is real.

Enough is enough. Anyone with a mind/eye for good horror knows that Suspiria was one of the worst non-frightening and boring films ever seen. After hearing for years how it was so legendary (?)!, I could not believe what a terrible film it was. Not a single scene is remotely scary. Clearly, if that garbage is his masterpiece, Argento sucks.

suspiria is not remakeable it's far to good. I'm sure the idea will go away coz if it doesn't i think some murders may happen .

frankly, in my opinion this new wave of re-make madness, i think they all just need to chill out on everything. i was discussing the dawn remake with a friend earlier and i said how i wanted to see it, simply because it was there, but i dont agree with the remake, i dont think they should spend money to "modernize" all these classic films just to make a quick buck and gain some noteriety in the box office.

i cant say im not excited to see what they did to dawn of the dead, but at the same time its like, why? why cant you write your own movie, and spend millions of dollars making it, instead of taking the brain child of a classic and revamping it to please the "masses". if these directors and film companies would concentrate this energy on developing new films, new ideas, new places, new characters i think it would be much more inspirational and effective. and hell, more fun.
