I saw evil dead 2 on tv, it was realy good, but i think i prefered evil dead, it had more atmosphere, and the cast of unknowns, helped to build the atmosphere. What was your favirote sam raimi splater fest.

I gotta go with the original EVIL DEAD too as my favorite. It was raw, real, and alittle scary. When I first saw EVIL DEAD 2, I didn't care too much for it because I didn't expect it to have such comedy antics. Later on, I've come to accept it. ARMY OF DARKNESS I saw at the theatre and loved it. A psuedo-horror/comedy like the second film but much better and really put BRUCE CAMPBELL on the cult status map as a horror movie icon forever.

the first one is the best... part 2 was a mind-fuck... 3 was decent for what it was!
the original is classic though...

I voted for THE EVIL DEAD the best! Part 2 is ok - but pretty creepy in the woods! And, for Army of Darkness is somewhat sucked! I don't know why Bruce Campbell aka Ash travels thru the time to the medievil area.
Did anyone of you guys hear about EVIL DEAD 4? But somebody told me they don't think they are going to do EVIL DEAD remake? Is that true?
This film poster image from somewhere on board:

Sam Raimi states OK with Bruce Campbell in EVIL DEAD 4, so please read on:

Went to see this with a friend of mine on an afternoon when it opened. There was about 5 people there, including us. My friend said he felt like walking out during it, hah. It is a strange addition to the series, and Raimi by then seems unable to deliver it as anything other than a joke.
I don't mind it, but it goes to far in that direction for me. I'm all for the dark comedy in something like RE-ANIMATOR, but if I wanted an outright comedy then I'd just pick a comedy.
BTW that EVIL DEAD IV poster is nothing more than the alternate EVIL DEAD II poster with a kiddy-photoshopped title over it.
I'll believe the films coming when it's being made. Just like "about to be made" BUBBA HOTEP AND THE SHE-VAMPIRES and HOUSE OF RE-ANIMATOR.

In terms of Horror Evil Dead 1 destroys the other two films in the series hands down... All the Slap stick comedy in ED2 and AOD just changed the series. nonetheless I still enjoy the other two, but Evil dead 1 will forever be my favorite... I saw it when i was very young, and can still remember that feeling i endured while watching that bitch get raped by a tree.... good times...

Part one is fantastically funny and horrific,Part 2 steps up and demolishes the first and stands on its own and gore galore to boot,Army of Darkness great movie in oddballish sort of way just seemed out of place from the first two but again that probably was Raimi s intention so whatever in the criticism department for me.
